About Hands of Hope Allegany County
A volunteer-driven nonprofit strengthening families and communities in Allegany County, Maryland since 2022.
Our Story
Hands of Hope Allegany County was founded in 2022 by Chairman Wayne P. Conklin and Vice-Chairman Rocky Stafford with a clear and heartfelt mission: to bring our community together to support the people and causes that need us most.
What began as a vision to raise funds for a handful of important causes has grown into a thriving, volunteer-powered organization that touches the lives of countless individuals and families right here in Allegany County.
As a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, every dollar donated to Hands of Hope goes directly toward our five cause areas and the local families who depend on our support. We organize fundraising events throughout the year — and each one is made possible entirely by volunteers who give their time because they believe in this community.
We are your neighbors. And we are here to help.
Community First
We exist to serve Allegany County. Every fundraiser, every event, and every dollar raised stays focused on the people and causes in our own backyard.
Compassion in Action
We don’t just raise money — we show up. Our all-volunteer team gives their time because they genuinely care about making life better for their neighbors.
Transparency & Trust
As a 501(c)(3) organization, we are committed to operating with integrity. All contributions are tax-deductible, and we are accountable to our community.
